This collection of poems by Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko is an attempt to present a complete, authentic, and canonical version of his works written between 1837 and 1861. Alongside his poetic legacy, the book also features Shevchenko’s artwork, revealing to the reader a powerful and strong-willed figure around whom people naturally gather. These paintings are part of the permanent exhibition of the Taras Shevchenko National Museum.
For the first time, the pages featuring Shevchenko's poetry are illustrated with his own watercolor works, created during his years in exile.
